Prompt-to-Image Art Series
Project Overview
For the AI + Utopia art exhibition in Toronto, I created a digital art collection that explores the intersection of hyperrealism, synthetic textures, and imagined futures. Using prompt to image tools, I aimed to blur the line between organic forms and surreal materials transforming fruit into fuzzy, plush, tactile artifacts from a future world.
My goal was to explore how AI tools could be pushed beyond typical hyperreal or sterile imagery by focusing instead on emotional tactility, inviting viewers to feel a future through texture.
Theme: Utopianism Through Texture
Unlike conventional utopian visuals that rely on futuristic tech and neon glow, I challenged myself to bring forward an earthier, gentler utopia, where texture plays a central role in communicating comfort, surrealism, and wonder. Think: wool, fur, linen, velvet embedded into speculative landscapes and scenes.
Prompting with Intention
Before generating visuals, I developed a prompt strategy to align my concept with visual output. My goal was to achieve:
Tactile illusions (faux fur, velvet, fuzz)
Soft utopian lighting (pink hues, ambient glow)
Minimalist backdrops
Balanced compositions with chromatic harmony
Sample Prompt Elements:
“hyperreal still life of synthetic fruit”
“pears and kiwis covered in faux fur”
“soft ambient lighting, studio backdrop, utopian setting”
“macro photography, pastel tones, surreal realism”
Final Visual Outcomes
Velvet Orchard
A dreamlike composition with softly lit fruit nestled on a fur-like surface. Pears, peaches, and kiwis are reimagined with gentle bristles and ambient reflections.
Utopian Harvest
A maximalist take with multiple fruits, bold color, and plush surfaces. A play between the organic and ornamental
Textured Trio
A classic pear next to two fuzz-covered variations—exploring realism vs. synthetic contrast.
